Well, Obviously, I've taken about a month off. I got to the point where I felt like maintaining the blog was more of a chore than a desire and I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with things happening in life, so I decided I needed to take a bit of a break. Infact, I took a break from blog world all together. I'm 30 days behind on the dozen or so blogs I follow!
But, I'm back. Well, I will be on Tuesday. This weekend is a bit crazy being the holiday and all, and we're going camping with my folks. Emmy starts preschool on Tuesday morning, so I'll have a little bit of down time to write my first "I'm back" post. I'm sure it'll be filled with sappy mommy ramblings about my baby girl growing up. I hope that the last 30 days have been a good close to the summer. I'm ready for fall! Bring on the leaves, the crisp air, and the cider! I'm also looking forward to getting back with you and sharing my heart and all the things the Lord is showing me!

Well, it's been a busy week here at the homestead. But yet again, it's Friday. We're closing out one week and heading into another. I know I say this every week, but time is flying by! In a few short weeks, my (big) baby girl will be starting preschool! I can't believe it. She's excited beyond belief. All she talkes about are backpacks and lunchboxes. And I am excited for her and with her. It's a new chapter of her life and I know she'll excel and will enjoy her time there. Anyways, onto my top 5's! 1. The BFF is married. Finally. Her original flight got canceled and she was a little stranded, but she made it there and was able to get married the next day. So, congrats Bear! :-) And welcome to the "fam" Bear's husband! 2. The girls from The Landing @ Fishers Point are coming over tonight! I'm so excited. We always have a great time at sleepovers! We'll eat and watch movies and tie dye shirts. A year ago this week we had a sleepover and the girls wrote letters to themselves for the school year. I took them and sealed them in an envelope. Tonight we're going to open them and read them and see if things worked out the way we'd hoped. Then we're going to do it again for this coming school year. 3. I lost 3lbs this week! I'm excited. That's the most I've lost in a week. I'm not where I thought I was due to the fact that, apparently, my dial scale is 10lbs off. But, the good part is that I've still lost 34 lbs. I'm not going to discount that. :-) 4. God's really been dealing with me in a specific area of my life. It's been challenging, but I'm thankful that God's grace allows me to move away from the sin and He shows me ways to deal with things in a Christlike way. I'm the only person that holds me to guilt and shame. I have to be willing to accept God's forgiveness and move forward in the ways He shows me. 5. This isn't something that happened this week, as it happens always, but I'm thankful for my husband. He's such a hardworker and he really commits himself to whatever "he puts his hands to". He works so hard and in some instances he gets very little feedback in return. Unfortunately, even from me sometimes. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Well, it's Weigh In Wednesday again. Thankfully the last few weigh in's haven't been bad. I'm not losing weight as quickly as I would like or have hoped, but this time is about doing it right, so I'm going to stick to what I know is working (even if it is slow). I didn't weigh myself this AM, but I did weigh yesterday. The verdict was -1. I've lost a total of 13lbs since I started this most recent process and I've lost a total of 31 lbs from my highest weight. So, not a huge number, but it's still going down, so I'm pleased. Alright, so I've set 1 goal for August- to find my groove. June and July (both months since I didn't do well for like 3 weeks out of the 8) were about figuring out what works for me. I know what my calorie count needs to be and I know what exercise works for me. So, August is just about getting it done. Consistency is my goal. Exercise wise, I'm going to add some strength training in on the days I'm not running. Yoga or pilates would be good, but that might be something I do in the mornings and then I'll run and or do strength training in the afternoon or at night. I'm not going to set a weight goal because if I can be consistent in eating well and exercising, then I will lose weight. So, my goal is to be consistent in the process, not the outcome. And I'm only going to weigh myself once a week. And I'm moving my weigh in days to Friday instead of Wednesday. And the hardest one yet... I'm giving up pop. Whew. That's a lot of goals! Ok, so here's my list: 1. Staying within my 1290-1400 calorie range daily. 2. Exercising consistently- either running or strength training daily. 3. Only weigh myself 1x per week. 4. Drink no pop the month of August. |
